The Ivy Crown образовались в 98 году, в Ист-Лансинге, который расположен чуть восточнее столицы Мичигана Лансинга (что логично), близ границы с Канадой.
Кит Бабиасз (гитара), Саами Джано (ударные), Грегг, Андреа Фонтана и Билл.

Создали лейбл Systematic Labor Records, на котором выпускали свои записи и первой записью стала селф-тайтледная семерка в 98 году.

В конце 98 года подружились с группой Utah! и вместе с ней активно проводили концертную деятельность, выезжали в Детройт, Каламазу, Энн-Арбор, то есть в основном локальные концерты внутри Мичигана и играли с такими группами как Chauncy, Small Brown Bike, Beowulf Scantron Test, Like the Southern, Super Wow, с такими же локальными и неизвестными группами Мичигана.

Первым и последним лонг-плеем группы стал диск под названием After So Much Red Wine в 1999 году. Группа долго готовилась к выпуску этого диска, было потрачено много сил и нервов. Выпущен он был силами группы на Systematic Labor Records.
"It was hard to get exactly what the band wanted because the more people in the band there are, the more opinions there are going to be".

After So Much Red Wine, когда я решил послушать этот диск очередной неизвестной группы, я был настроен достаточно скептически и ничего от них не ждал.
Но честно говоря диск превзошел все мои ожидания!
Заглавная песня Calling Back The Taurus, боже, да это же Owltian Mia, подумал я.
Но далее уже играл инди-рок, с долей эмо\хк, вроде Midvale (песня Ten Times A Promise) или Words a Game, в пару песнях на бек-вокале был женский вокал (трек Sleeve вообще хит).

The Ivy Crown распались в конце 99 года. Драмер Саами Джано после распада в начале 2000 года играл в группе This Is Adelaide. Еще кто-то в A Thousand Times Yes.

Между строк поэма Уильяма Карлоса Уильямса The Ivy Crown, в честь которой и была названа группа. Написана в 1950 году.
